Desde ALA Asociación Latinoamericana de Antropología rechazamos el ataque armado perpetrado hoy, 3 de enero de 2026, por el gobierno de los Estados Unidos contra la soberanía y el pueblo de Venezuela.
Nos solidarizamos con el pueblo venezolano frente a esta violación de su libertad y soberanía. Esta agresión militar es sin duda una injerencia y grave violación del derecho internacional.
Como latinoamericanos y caribeños expresamos nuestra más profunda preocupación y rechazo a la intervención militar en nuestros territorios, está situación representa un antecedente sumamente peligroso para nuestra latinoamérica y no podemos quedar expectante sino actuar activamente para el retiro de las tropas estadounidense de nuestro país hermano Venezuela. Compartimos aquí y hacemos propias las palabras de los comunicados de la Red de Centros CLACSO Venezuela y de la Red de Intelectuales, Artistas y Movimientos Sociales En Defensa de la Humanidad (REDH) del día de la fecha.
From the Latin American Anthropology Association (ALA), we strongly condemn the armed attack carried out today, January 3, 2026, by the government of the United States against the sovereignty and the people of Venezuela.
We express our full solidarity with the Venezuelan people in the face of this grave violation of their freedom and national sovereignty. This military aggression constitutes a clear act of foreign intervention and a serious breach of international law.
As Latin Americans and Caribbeans anthropologists, we express our profound concern and categorical rejection of any form of military intervention in our territories. This action sets an extremely dangerous precedent for Latin America and the Caribbean. We cannot remain silent or merely observant; we must actively demand the immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from our sister country, Venezuela.
We endorse and make our own the statements issued today by the CLACSO Venezuela Centers Network and the Network of Intellectuals, Artists, and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity (REDH).
